Starting to settle in

Hi everyone. I want to thank-you all for your patiences as we spend the summer traveling to see our families and close friends over the summer. Even before I arrived to Canada God had already given us a great gift. A loaded 2004 Toyota Camery car that was purchesed from a dealer for us. It's funny to see the reaction from most people when we share about our stories and tell them that these things are normal for us. These things happen almost on a daily basis, amazing provisions, answers to our prayers. People also can't beleieve that we have already driven 7,000km when we have only had our car for 8 weeks.

Many mission organizations require their missionaries to have a 1 year home assignment every 4 years. Due to the school year we felt it was best to return in the summertime to allow for us to transition enough so our kids who be able to start school rested & adjusted. I would like share with everyone that we are on our first home assignment since leaving for Mongolian 3.5 years ago. Are plans are to be in Canada for this year to share about Mongolia, with churches, supporters and others (ADC, Intervarsity, etc...) that have already asked us to share with them about how we were used by God. Since we have been back have joined the YWAM (youth with a mission) base in Truro NS & will be helping them in whatever way we can (teaching part of a missions class & other possiblities.)

Many of our more experienced missionary friends have shared with us the important need of taking time to be refilled before reutirning overseas. We want to take this opporunity of being in Canada to go to some classes or conferences to refresh ourselves. We spend most of our time giving oursleves to others & really feel we need to be filled & refreshed before we leave again.

During this year Teresa is looking into her health (asthma like symtoms) which seems to have completely gone away since leaving Mongolia. Also the struggles our daughter had in Mongolia with home schooling has been confirmed by an educational specialist & her school teacher. We deeply feel that this is a major reason why we felt God asked us to reutrn to Canada. Esme can get the educational help she needs none of which is available for Mongolian children let alone forgien children living in Mongolia.

God also gave us another amazing gift. Esme's teacher is one of the best teachers in our entire schoolboard for her challenge, told by friends that are experienced teachers in this schoolboard. We have been told by the education specialist & her teacher that with the proper resources (not available in Mongolia) she will be able to overcome her challenge. This means we will need to hire the educational specialist to tutour Esme twice a week on top of her regular schooling.

I want to let you all know that we are still missionaries on the mission field. For this year our field is Canada. We are missionaries transitioning from one country to another. The counrty we are considering is Thailand and are moving forward to going there next summer. We feel there are good possiblilities in Thailand with having visited a few times, local Thai's having more physical & spiritual needs than we could count, good internation schools, such as tuition being less than half of Mongolia & having the resource (staff specialized in learning challenges) to help us & Esme continue to learn & enjoy school.

Please continue to pray for us as we continue to move in this time of transition from one country to another & that you all would prayfully consider continuing your support of us.
